Getting Started
This week, children learn how objects float and sink. Children will:
- Explore floating and sinking objects made of different materials
- Make boats from various materials and explore how to make them float or sink
- Listen to the read-aloud book Who Sank The Boat? by Pamela Allen to learn more about what happens if you put too much weight in a boat
- Watch the PEEP and the Big Wide World video “Fish Museum” to make connections to their own float and sink explorations
- Review the letter “Bb” and the beginning sound /b/, and learn the word boat
