Getting Started
This week, children will explore building different structures and building for a purpose. Children will:
- Be introduced to the concepts of measuring and estimation as they build houses to size for toys
- Explore building bridges
- Explore building and making representations of structures
- Listen to the classic three little pigs tale told from the perspective of the wolf in Tell the Truth, B. B. Wolf by Judy Sierra
- Continue to learn about tools as they listen to the read-aloud book Alphabet Under Construction, about a mouse who “constructs” the letters of the alphabet using various tools
- Find out about different kinds and sizes of homes as they watch the video Between the Lions “My House”
- Be introduced to the letter “Xx,” the letter sounds /x/ and /ks/, and the word x-ray
