Getting Started
This week children will explore ramps with surfaces of different textures and what happens to a rolling object when you increase the steepness of a ramp. Children will:
- Compare how objects move on different surfaces
- Build their own ramps and investigate what happens when they make the ramps steeper
- Learn about what wheels do and how they help people by listening to the read-aloud book What Wheels Do All Day
- Think about inclines as they listen to the read-aloud book The Little Engine That Could
- Develop social emotional skills as they work in pairs and groups building ramps
- Be introduced to the letters “Dd” and “Ee” and the words down and engine
