STEM
Children will:
- Understand there are many different colors
 - Understand that a color has many different shades from very light to very dark
 - Begin to understand that two or more colors can be combined to make a new color
 - Continue to understand that objects can be classified by color
 - Understand that objects appear to be a different color when viewed through a transparent colored material
 - Begin to understand that the color of light looks different after passing through a transparent colored material
 - Begin to understand that some animals can blend into their environment
 - Continue to predict and record results of color investigations based on observations
 
ELA
Children will:
- Recognize, match, and form uppercase and lowercase “Pp” (Alphabet Knowledge)
 - Begin to ask and answer questions about a text (Comprehension)
 - Make connections between their lives and texts read aloud (Comprehension)
 - Continue to identify front and back covers of a book (Concepts of Print)
 - Understand the roles of author and illustrator (Concepts of Print)
 - Recognize environmental print (Concepts of Print)
 - Continue listen to and clap syllables in names and words (Phonological Awareness)
 - Listen to, learn, and use new concept vocabulary words about color such as color, dark, darker, darkest, light, lighter, lightest, paint, shade, and transparent (Vocabulary)
 
SOCIAL EMOTIONAL
Children will:
- Listen to and follow directions
 - Continue to build their condept of self as they say their names and begin to recogninze their names in print
 - Continue to identify othe children by name
 - Learn to work independently or cooperatively with one child or in small groups
 - Continue to share and discuss ideas as they build self confidence in their own abilities
 - Contineu to use basic conversational rules such as taking turns and actively listening
 - Learn how to encourage others as they explore and discover new things about color
 - Continue to learn to express appreciation for the abilities of others
